The hybrid midsize sedan marketplace has been slowly growing since the introduction of the Toyota Camry Hybrid back in 2006. Since then, competitors such as Hyundai and Kia have introduce their own hybrid midsize sedans to give the Camry Hybrid a run for its money. One model that has given the Camry Hybrid a run for its money was the last generation Ford Fusion Hybrid which offered better fuel economy and was somewhat fun to drive. Ford is hoping to keep that streak alive with the introduction of the 2013 Fusion Hybrid.

The 2013 Fusion Hybrid starts off with a very distinct exterior design that mimics an Aston Martin. The front end features a sloping hood, swept-back headlights, and a pentagonal grille; all things that you would find on a more expensive Aston. Inside, the Fusion Hybrid has seats made from recycled materials and Eco Smart Gauge that helps you drive more efficiently. Power comes from a 2.0L Atkinson Cycle inline-four mated with 88 kW electric motor. Total output stands at 188 horsepower. A continuously variable transmission makes sure the power gets to the wheels. A lithium-ion battery pack sits in the back. Fuel economy for the 2013 Fusion Hybrid stands at 47 City/47 Highway/47 Combined. The 2013 Fusion Hybrid starts at $27,200 for SE model and comes equipped with a ten-way power-adjustable drivers seat, dual-zone climate control, six-speaker sound system, Ford’s SYNC infotainment system, and more. There is also the Fusion Hybrid Titanium that starts at $32,100 and adds leather, a twelve-speaker Sony sound system, eighteen-inch alloy wheels, push button start, MyFordTouch, and more.

Competitors for the 2013 Fusion Hybrid include the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, Kia Optima Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, and Volkswagen Passat TDI.
