    2005 Ford Focus

    worked for me

Pros: lots of cargo space for such a small car

Cons: seat belts not easily accesible

When i bought this car i just needed something to get back and forth to work in. Turns out this has been the most hassle free car i've ever had. I plan on keeping this thing until the wheels fall off. I've got my money's worth...and more.

    2005 Ford Focus - SES (620A) Wagon

Pros: The amount of room in the back with the seats down

Cons: The unrealiability when it was just out of warranty and even when it was in warranty the dealership would not address my concerns.

Advice: Do not believe the Fotd hype' about M.P.G. on this car, and get a longer warranty if you buy new.

I bought my Focus wagon in Florida in '05. As of Sept' 07 I still own it. After 37,000 miles I only had one complaint which was a black exhaust even after a 3,000 mile trip to C.A. The dealership in San Leandro did't want to know as there was no MIL light on when I queried this. After 37,000 miles it got hard to start but again no trouble codes were present. It is now on 44,000 and I cannot wait for the day when I can get rid of it I only get 22mpg around town and never more than 30 hwy.use. The alignment (I have found out) must have been out since I bought it as the inner tread was down to the wire at 37,000.I have always been a Ford buyer but this car has left a sour taste in my mouth and i will be buying a Toyota Camery as soon as I can get a good deal on one.

    2005 Ford Focus - SE (110A) 2dr Hatchback

    Pros: the look

Cons: that i can almost hit my head on the sun visor and the handle to raise and lower the seat

Advice: Dont get the lowest model for the price, spend a little more and it will keep yo happier

Before I found out that there was a fuel iniection recall on my car I hated it, the gas mileage and the stalling furiated me but now that I know it can be fixed its not a problem. Its confortable feels just like a newer honda civic handles fine. Once the fuel and door handle recall is taken care of i can give better judgement of the car.The only big thing that effects my driving is the style of the seats arent that confortable on a bad back along with the handle to raise and lower the seat.

    2005 Ford Focus - SES (420A) Sedan

Pros: Is this lazy or what? The cruise control works flawlessly. Speed stays the same with little or no speed variance.

Cons: CD player performance. Little grip considering the big picture on just what is really important in buying a car.

Advice: Be sure the paint is good on the car at time of delivery and be sure to check to see if the cd player plays your compact discs the way the producer intended.

Driving the focus is much like driving a hybrid Japanese/European small sedan. The standard 4 cylinder is a Mazda power plant and the underpinnings from Ford Europe. The car handles and accelerates well. The limitations of the car are what's expected in the class of vehicle. I really like the handling and ride of the chassis and smoothness of the engine. This car drives and handles as well as more expensive vehicles. The fit and finish are not as good as I had hoped. My rear spoiler (after much adjusting) still isn't equally flush end to end as the left end is higher than the right. The paint is already showing signs of fatigue (bought the car in July of '05 and it is now January of '06.) on the hood. This is either bad paint or possibly when the detailing was done prior to delivery the detail person put too much pressure on the paint and burned it. This is yet to be resolved by the dealer, Country Ford in Southaven, MS. The 6 disc changer doesn't play compact disc as recorded. Many of my cd's have no space between songs and the disc player forces a space between the tracks even when to do so interrupts the original recording mix. The cd changer has been replaced twice and is in the shop today to have another player put in. I addressed this issue with Crossroads Ford in Memphis, TN and I am unaware if they are going to do anything else except to put another player in the car. This is apparently a design flaw in the optical reader of the 6 disc changer. The car overall is a great buy. My Ford Focus SES with all the trimmings except Anti-lock brakes, side curtain airbags and perimeter alarm cost a mere $13,500.

    2005 Ford Focus - SES (420A) Sedan

Pros: The microscopic steering wheel is an awesome feature

Cons: The lever that pulls the seat up or cranks it up stick out

    Advice: Get a good dealer!

The focus drives smooth without any road noise. I love this car. It looks nice and drives nice, I feel safe in it.
