Getting firsthand information from an actual car owner is one sure way to get an idea of car performance once it leaves the lot. Autobytel features real consumer reviews that give the unbiased experience of a car.
It's been a good little car. No real problems, except with the rear defrost conking out. Don't use in high wind areas though - it's a lot like a tinker toy on the road in heavy weather.
Pros: Cruise control.
Cons: Road noise. My only complaint about this car is the road noise. It holds the road good, handles well, and gets good MPG in town and very good MPG on the highway.
2.3 ZX3 Great little car.
Pros: The 2.3 Liter Duratec/5-Speed combo
Cons: The appearance from the rear.Peppy. The 2.3 easily out-accelerates average traffic and still gets 30+ mpg. Reasonably comfortable but a bit noisy. Handles well for a front-drive. Cheap to operate and insure. I drove a 2.0L SVT and it was a dog compared to the 2.3 Duratec. Trouble is, the 2.3 was only available in 2003-2004 in the 3-door model.
Great car for price
Pros: Overall durability
Cons: Level of comfortThe Ford Focus SE 5-speed is an extremely reliable, fuel efficient, very tough vehicle. I love Fords and will continue to purchase them when possible.
Pros: trunk space and the powerful a/c
Cons: manual windows
Advice: don't cheap out and get manual windows , they suck.It hugs the road well , but once you click on the A/C all of it's 'go-go ' power dissappears.
Cons: Cabin Noise
Advice: Try it, you'll like it - compares well with comparable Honda and Toyota ModelsVery peppy, good acceleration - even with the automatic transmission, reasonably quiet ride and ecellent - tight handling and very good stopping (4 wheel discs). The real test will be this winter on icy roads in Colorado...
Pros: Performance and handling
Cons: position of turn signal stalk.
Advice: If you have a passion for driving and cornering buy it. If your a straite line guy/galBest handling pocket rocket available today. At 44 years old with a background in club road racing, I tested all similar competetors on the market. Decision made on comfort, performance, and value. Not only is it my daily driver, I enjoy surprising EVO's, WRX, Si's ect. in the turns at Buttonwillow and Willow Springs Raceways! I torture this car and it only begs for more. No mechanical issues. I just bolted on a Jackson Racing SuperCharger. Oh my God! I'm now in car heaven for $20K! No time for 500 words...I gotta' go drive. Wooohooooooooooo!
