Coming off a major redesign in 2009 and a complete powertrain overhaul in 2011, the 2013 Ford F-150 continues the evolution of Ford's award-winning pickup truck with more significant updates including styling and cabin technology. The new 2013 Ford F-150 comes just months after the 2013 Ford F-Series Super Duty was unveiled with similar updates making the 2013 model year incredibly important for the best-selling truck AND new vehicle in the United States.
The biggest news for the new F-150 is that the truck will now offer the MyFord Touch infotainment system. Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and the all-new Limited trim levels will come standard with MyFord Touch, and the system has been upgraded for truck duty in that the touch screen can be operated by users wearing work gloves which should really come in handy (pun intended). For vehicles not equipped with MyFord Touch, a smaller 4.2-inch LCD screen displaying audio and HVAC information, and speaking of these two systems, the rest of the center stack has been redesigned with a more attractive layout and easier to use controls including larger knobs and buttons for audio and HVAC systems. The 2013 Ford F-150 FX Appearance Package gives this sporty option even more equipment with all-new Alcantara seat insterts.
Visually, the 2013 Ford F-150 will stand out with a luxurious Limited trim level, more advanced optional headlights, a couple new grilles and two new wheel options. The F-150 Limited will most be positioned near the top of the 2013 F-150 line-up beneath the ultra-luxurious F-150 Platinum, and some of the other trim levels will now offer HID headlights, new 18- and 20-inch wheel options and power telescoping and power folding tow mirrors. Aside from the chrome mesh grille used on the new Limited trim level, the 2013 F-150 XLT will also get a new grille that has plenty of family resemblance to what is found on the front of the F-Series Super Duty. Playing up to its ruggedness and Texas popularity, the 2013 Ford F-150 is available in three new exterior colors including Blue Jeans Metallic!
“The 2013 Ford F-150 adds more style and technology that sets a benchmark for capability and efficiency in light-duty pickups,” said Raj Sarkar, F-150 Marketing Manager. “We continue to focus on the no-compromise solution for our customers, giving them all of the conveniences and technologies they want with the capability they need and the fuel efficiency to go further.
In addition to the 2013 F-150, Ford also announced a 65-year continuation of its partnership with the Future Farmers of America (FFA).
