2015 Ford F-150 Wins Truck of Texas Award

The 2015 Ford F-150 is kind of a big deal for the blue oval. This truck sports a new aluminum body which cuts a massive amount of weight from the truck and gets a range of engines that are both efficient and powerful. To underscore the significance of these improvements, the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) named the F-150 the Truck of Texas at their annual Truck Rodeo. These folks are somewhat of an authority on the matter, as the state of Texas is the largest market for trucks in the U.S.

“TAWA members are among the first to experience the all-new F-150’s breakthrough innovations and best-in-class capabilities, features that will help our hardworking customers improve their productivity. It is an honor to again be named Truck of Texas. We are committed to continuously improving America’s favorite trucks,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas.

This wasn't the only award the F-150 took home while at the truck rodeo. It also snagged honors for best technology with its aluminum construction, best full-size truck, and best luxury truck.

Ford also took home the Commercial Vehicle of Texas award with the new Transit.

“Transit delivers it all – better fuel economy, more capability, the largest number of technology choices, and the most innovative and diversified offering of configurations in a full-size van,” said Hinrichs. “We’re honored TAWA members also have recognized Transit as a game changer for our hardworking commercial vehicle customers.”
