After three-years of being on the marketplace, Ford has announced they have sold their 500,000 F-150 pickup equipped with the EcoBoost V6 engine. An impressive feat to say in the least. But that isn't only item that Ford is touting. In the past four months, 57 percent of F-150s were equipped with a V6 engine. 45 percent of those were equipped with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6.
“We expect those numbers to hold for the rest of the year,” said Doug Scott, Ford's truck group marketing manager. “It really is amazing when you consider we are doing that with just two V6 engine choices – the 3.5-liter EcoBoost and the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT engine. When we come out with the new 2015 F-150, we will offer three different V6 engines, so there is potential for further growth.”
