Ford Introduces A Special Edition F-150 SVT Raptor

Ford announced a new Special Edition model of its F-150 SVT Raptor truck for the 2014 model year. This Special Edition is being introduced to give buyers of the Raptor a more exclusive model. Starting with the F-150 SVT Raptor equipped with the Luxury Package, Ford adds two exclusive colors: Tuxedo Black or Ruby Red Metallic. The Ruby Red Metallic also gets a gets a set of matching box-side graphics.

Inside, Ford has fitted a set of custom seats with Brick Red bolsters and black inserts. There is also a new top finish panel for the console and revised accents for the console and door inserts. Those who were hoping for more performance or improved off-roading ability will be sad to hear that the F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition gets no changes there. It still will use the 6.2L V8 with 411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque, and suspension setup.

“Raptor owners are looking for a high-performing, uncompromising off-road pickup truck with the features and luxuries found in today’s premium trucks. Since its launch in 2009, we’ve continually moved Raptor forward in capability and design, and the 2014 Special Edition is the best Raptor yet,” said Doug Scott, Ford truck group marketing manager. Pricing hasn’t been announced for the 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor. That will be announced when the truck goes on sale in the fall.
