2002 Ford Explorer Sport - Choice Automatic (120A) 4x2
Love mine! It's great for my lifestyle. I can load up any sports gear, my dog, or make a run to Lowes and have plenty of room and it's still in great shape after 190K.

I bought mine as a new vehicle and still love it after 160K miles. I couldn't survive without the keypad entry. They hooked me with that feature!

2003 Ford Explorer Sport - XLT Automatic (120B) 4x2
Pros: Extremely comfortable front seats
Cons: Craftsmanship
Advice: BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY
Better gas mileage than I expected. Looks good, body integrity is very solid. Resists dents well. Quality is far below market average. Replaced engine mount at 23,000 miles. Replaced radiator at 36,100 miles (right after warranty expired). Replaced rear windshield wiper motor at 42,000 miles. Traded for a Nissan Xterra SE after this last ridiculous out-of-pocket expense. -
2003 Ford Explorer Sport - XLT Automatic (220A) 4x4

2002 Ford Explorer Sport - Choice Automatic (220A) 4x4
Pros: Cargo area
Cons: Spins out like crazy on snow. Ride on bumpy roads
Advice: Be aware of poor milage
I purchased this (actually a 2001, not 2002) car with the intention of selling it soon after for a smaller car (had to move and help a lot of friends move right after college). Well, I still have it because I really like it, with the exception of very jolting ride over uneven pavement and gas milage. Can hold a lot of stuff with seats folded down as well as tow a lighter trailer. Can only seat 4 people-I always seem to have some one in the trunk too! (I know, bad me.) I have taken it off-road a few times and it handles very well. Spins out on icy/snowy surfaces but can plow through up to a foot or two of snow like it wasn't there. -

Advice: check for firestone tires
excellent handling and ride comfort
