Pros: Back up assistant
Advice: Just drive it!!!After driving the new Expedition, I felt as if they had re-built the whole vehicle. The interior was very comfortable and roomy. I was very impressed with the back-up assistance, the automatic setting for the drivers seat, the comfort control air system, the seperate second row seats, which make it much easier to access the third row seats. Speaking of the third row seat, I like not having to take it out to access that area. It is great that they made that seat the same level as the rest of the vehicle. That alone makes it more comfortable for all riders. The exterior design of the vehicle is very sophisticated. Everytime I drive it I feel very secure and confident. The steering seems to be tighter than my '99' Expedition, which makes it easier to handle. Very, Very nice vehicle.
Pros: Air suspension
Cons: No armrests on front seats.
Advice: If you like big -- you will like this truck.Vehicle performed flawlessly. Ride and handling are excellent -- especially for a vehcile this large. Suspension improved over earlier model years.
Pros: sterero system and roominess
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: inspect your vehicle before you sign the dotted line.I received my new vehichle with numerous scratches, minor dents, and out of line passenger and rear doors. The dealership have repaired two of the three problems, so far. The vehicle is an attention - getter in public. It is very roomy and comfortable for my passengers and myself. The ride is pretty smooth on city and highway roads. The steering and brakes are very responsive to the driver's needs. I really like my Ford E.B. Expedition. It is a good vehicle if you can afford to keep it ' gassed up '.
Pros: the way it handles and rides
Cons: the price
Advice: A MUST HAVE GREAT FOR LARGE FAMILYThis is a great suv the test drive was excellant it's like driving a luxury car!!!!!!
Pros: space, comfort
Cons: heavy rear door.
Advice: If you are looking at the suburban/tahoe, this is a better value.Great family SUV, plenty of room and easy to drive.
Advice: consider a DurangoGot this as a company car about six months ago. So far it has been in the shop once, for a failed sunroof mechanism that is still not right. Overall, I have to say that the ergonomics as well as the fit and finish of the interior is of lesser quality than my old 1998 model. The interior, in general, feels like it went through a downgrade. Get in an Explorer, then get in an Escape. All the same switches and controls. Seats are less comfortable too. That being said, the Explorer is still a great warrior for the urban jungle. Great visibility, good turning radius, and tons of space. I love the new suspension, the engine and tranny (although the shift points take some time to get used to), and the new bodywork.
Cons: hard ride
Advice: good buygood hard working truck. good workmanship, no mechanical probelms in 5 years. hard ride but it is expected in a 3/4 ton.
