    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (310B) 4x2

Pros: Room!! and third row fold down seats, especially flush with second row fold down, and after market fluch to ceiling dvd player.

Cons: The goofy silver interior door handles and air vent covers.

Advice: Ford has more options for your money than similar GM vehicles

Large yet comfortable; surprising since I was driving a corvette.

    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (310B) 4x2

    Pros: locked glove box

Cons: The power seats break repeatedly! Just filed a lemon law claim.

Advice: Wait till they fix the problems and improve the mileage.

Bought a 2003, had a 97 with 100,000 miles. No major problems with that one. New Exp broke at 50 miles! Power driver's seat stops working, they replace the seat and it has broken 5 times total. Production problems? Also the heated seat won't work correctly either, it all one piece, the seat and the power toy's motor! LEMON LAW! Also the MPG is way off, even on the highway only 16mpg.

    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 4.6L (300B) 4x2

    Pros: Great looks

    Cons: Brake dust

Advice: Make sure you want a vehicle this big

In a word - BIG! I've owned my '03 EB X for 4 months, and despite some minor flaws I am quite pleased with it. A smooth ride, LOTS of room, and great looks make this choice a good one. The fold flat 3rd row seat is great, the old design virtually kept me from purchasing an X a couple years ago. But the brake dust is horrific! I've just purchased a set of Kleenwheels dust sheilds, hopefully that will improve things. All in all, I love my X!

    2003 Ford Expedition - XLT 5.4L Premium (140B) 4x2

    Pros: Seating comfort and visibility

Cons: Large blind spot, it is a truck

Advice: Buy it if you enjoy driving!

This is my second Expedition, the first was a 97 model. In short great people hauler and fun to drive. Comfort, appearance and performance all get high marks. Vehicle also commands respect (if that matters) even around the Beemer and Mercedes crowd.

    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (310B) 4x2

Pros: 3rd row fold down to the floor

    Cons: rattling

Advice: SEE MY TEST DRIVE REVIEW BEFORE YOU BUY

I have owned my 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition for 2 months. My initial reaction was surprise at the quality comfort and handling. Nevertheless, upon driving along the interstate I noticed a rattling noise behind the dashboard. When I brought the vehicle in for service, a first look behind the dashboard couldn't isolate the problem. On a second visit, the windshield was pulled and resealed which resolved the dashboard noise but resulted in a far worse rattling above the sunvisors. The windshield was reseated AGAIN on a third visit to the service center, with no improvement. My complaints to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle now result in shoulder shrugs, and a request to trade out the vehicle was met with a 'sorry can't do anything for you' reply (I'm not sure how high up in the administrative chain the request went through), even when the subject of 'Lemon Law' was brought up. At this time I'm considering trading the vehicle in at a different dealership at what will be a significant financial insult to my pocket versus following through with a Lemon Law claim. BEWARE of purchasing an Expedition from FORD, and at least do a test drive at highway speed to rule out any similar windnoise problem.
