    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (400B) 4x4

Pros: Power third row seats, spaciousness, running boards, overall capability, ALL seatbelts have shoulder belts

Cons: Cheap pinstriping, gas mileage, horrible visibility out the back when dvd player is down (add after market, in the headrest type)

Advice: It's a GREAT family car. Just do your commuting with one that uses less fuel, and take it easy on the gas pedal.

I love the height, engine power, power third row seats, heated/cooled front seats, overall cavernous feel inside even loaded with tons of stuff. I like two different options for opening up the back of the car (ie. whole hatch or just the uppper window part). I had to drive on a decent amount of snow a couple of months back. It had no problems whatsoever getting right off the line while set in 4AWD mode. This is a great family car. This version is pretty luxurious for a Ford product, too. We only have 3000 miles on ours so far, so I can't say much about longevity at this point. Brake dust is pretty bad, but I just appreciate the braking ability compared to the Seqouia I test drove before purchasing this car.

    2003 Ford Expedition - XLT 5.4L Popular (130B) 4x2

Pros: third row seating room and how it goes flat.

Cons: tire noise at lower speeds

Advice: make sure you have the remain warranty and/or the blue oval certification

Based on ~1400mi. round trip, we avg. 17.89mi/gal and the vehicle ran fine. We did have some minor difficulties. The gauge cluster went out (speed, tach, temp, press, fuel, batt)and the weather stripping around the front windshield came off. Cruise control and everything else was working.

    2003 Ford Expedition - XLT 5.4L Popular (130B) 4x2

Pros: the body style/ great mean and hungry looking suv

Cons: for a big car, reverse censor should be standard on all

Advice: have the dealer add a either a free dvd player or 22' wheels without additional cost like gm on most of their suv's as an incentive for their buyers/leasers

it's time to trade in that yukon/tahoe...2003-04 expedition will not disappoint you. just lease it!

    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (400B) 4x4

    Pros: The color

Cons: Amount of time it spends in Fords service Dept. The Tires,Headlights, unreliable drive train etc....

Advice: DONT DO IT YOU WILL BE SORRY

Involuntarily switches between 2Wheel dr. and AWD, causing a loud hum and vibration throughout vehicle. Rack and pinion changed at 400 miles,2rear axle replaced at 6500 miles. Power mirror drivers side doesnt hold preset and randomly adjusts itself.(great for star gazing) Engine is loud and slightly underpowered for a vehicle of this size. Great from a stop nothing left for passing at highway speeds. Low beams are insufficient high beams are as bright as the sun. Leather seating is thin and cheap looking door paneling and dash are tawdry. The vehicle drives nice and handles ok on dry roads at moderate speeds. Wet roads are another story due to Fords choice of rubber. You figure they would have learned after the Bridgestone recall...nope they outdid themselves this time. They slapped Continental Contracs on them this time bad on wet roads. Had to replace one the dealer couldnt balance it with less than 6 ounces of lead after several attempts. They had to take a tire from another Expedition on the lot. Transmission is slow downshifting on turns and then shifts prematurely on acceleration.

    2003 Ford Expedition - XLT 5.4L Premium (140B) 4x2

Pros: Captain's chairs, sound system, 3rd row seat, love

Cons: gas mileage, door cupholders are too small

Advice: the safety of this vehicle is incredible. Mine was recently totalled & all passengers were unscathed.

As soon as I got in, I knew I wanted this car. It was comfortable, and incredibly easy to drive. I did a U-turn and it felt like I was in a small car... that pretty much sealed the deal right there. I tested an '00 Expedition, and the difference between the two was amazing. I really didn't want an SUV, and not all that interested in a Ford, but this vehicle changed my mind instantly.
