    2003 Ford Expedition - XLT 4.6L Popular (110B) 4x2

    Pros: power fold 3rd seat

    Cons: gas consumption

    Advice: go for the XLT

Excellent vehicle. Big, smooth, comfortable, safe. Does everything I need it to do. 65,000 miles with no problems. Great for road trips - can load up the family and all thier 'stuff' - arrive at our destination still on speaking terms.

    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (400B) 4x4

Pros: THE 2003 FORD EXPEDITON HAS NO QUALITY!

Cons: THE POOR QUALITY OF THE VEHICLE

Advice: DO NOT BUY A FORD EVER! CHEAPLY MADE BUT LOOK NICE

I purchased my vehicle while it was still under Factory warranty and within the 1st Six months, the Driverside window failed and had to be replaced. Shortly after that, I began to see a water leak coming from the driver side visor and it would just pour in when it rained. This problem has been worked on several times until finally I took it in to have all of the molding removed and replaced around the Sun Roof. As a result of this, there are other electrical problems with the Air-bag sensor and also the relay for the automatic door locks, reverse mirrors, interior lights and also the auto adjusting mirrors are all failing. FORD made a terrible TRUCK AND I WIL BE MOVING OVER TO GMC as soon as I can get rid of this piece of JUNK.

    2003 Ford Expedition - XLT 5.4L Premium (250B) 4x4

    Pros: Third row seat.

Cons: The plast molding on the outside. I think its a defect on all Exp 2003. Color fading.

Advice: To have dealer guarantee the outside molding. Should not be fading after 2 years.

Test drive was great. I am a big guy with a wife and two teenagers. The room and comfort is ideal for my family. I purchase the car used and like the appearance at first. I have been looking at other 2003 Expeditions and the side molding is fading on all of them. Anyone who is reading this please contact Ford to inform them of the defect. I contacted them already.

    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (400B) 4x4

    Pros: leg and head room

    Cons: 13 mpg around town

Advice: do not get the moonroof!

Other than the low mpg I didn't really have too many complaints about this veh. I too had the rearview mirrors problem where they didn't hold the presets and wouldn't correct after reversing. I have a new problem...several water leaks (from rain) in the drivers area. The water is leaking from the sun visor area & the emergency break release handle...probably something with the moonroof. I rarely use the moonroof as I find it to be very loud when opened.

    2003 Ford Expedition - XLT 5.4L Premium (140B) 4x2

Pros: The drive, the stereo and the air conditioner.

Cons: gas mileage but not bad for a large SUV if you drive it conservatively.

    Advice: Drive conservatively.

Drives like a luxury vehicle. Very easy and smooth. Great acceleration and power. Had a little strain pulling a three horse trailer though. Good handling and breaking. But a little hard to back up due to blind spots, you have to look a lot of different directions to make sure you aren't going to hit anything. Recommend electronic sensors.

    2003 Ford Expedition - Eddie Bauer 5.4L (400B) 4x4

Pros: Power third row seats, spaciousness, running boards, overall capability, ALL seatbelts have shoulder belts

Cons: Cheap pinstriping, gas mileage, horrible visibility out the back when dvd player is down (add after market, in the headrest type)

Advice: It's a GREAT family car. Just do your commuting with one that uses less fuel, and take it easy on the gas pedal.

I love the height, engine power, power third row seats, heated/cooled front seats, overall cavernous feel inside even loaded with tons of stuff. I like two different options for opening up the back of the car (ie. whole hatch or just the uppper window part). I had to drive on a decent amount of snow a couple of months back. It had no problems whatsoever getting right off the line while set in 4AWD mode. This is a great family car. This version is pretty luxurious for a Ford product, too. We only have 3000 miles on ours so far, so I can't say much about longevity at this point. Brake dust is pretty bad, but I just appreciate the braking ability compared to the Seqouia I test drove before purchasing this car.
