Pros: increased horsepower over the 7.3 L
Cons: Nothing to dislike!
Advice: By it quick-they stopped producing them in 2005It has the ride and feel of a heavy vehicle and the elevated seats gives a very good view of everything around you.
Pros: towing capability
Advice: don't overlook the diesel engine option !If you need to carry lots of people and/or stuff AND tow something BIG, buy this vehicle(get the diesel engine). We have owned a 1992, 1996 & 2001 Ford E 150 Chateau. They served us well for hauling 7 people & lots of stuff & towed our 20 ft. boat. However, we recently bought a larger boat (8000 lbs). I wanted 4WD (for steep launch ramps) + a diesel engine & an enclosed cargo area. The Excursion seemed like the only vehicle to meet all those needs. The diesel engine pulls STRONG & gets good mileage. The disk brakes seem over worked. The Excursion weighs twice as much as my BMW, yet the brake rotors are the same diameter. The Ex rides great, A/C cools quickly, 6 disk CD sounds awesome. The tow mirrors have a very useful wide-angle mirror below the main mirror. The overall look of the Ex ( and all the Ford Super Duty trucks) is badass, especially in black!
Pros: 20 foot long
Advice: power stroke diesel engine only!gret suv, getting about 15-17 mpg it handles like a dream and is fast. this truck can tow anything.
