2003 Ford Escape - XLT Premium (320B) FWD

    Pros: The view

    Cons: Key access

Advice: Take a long test drive and enjoy the confort and roomyness.

I love it, love it, love it!!!!!! I had been driving a 1993 Ford Mustang 5.0 for the past 11 years and driving stick in the city was just not the answer any more. As far as I'm concerned I'll never drive a regular car again I just love the size of this SUV. It's extremely roomy for the size, it lacks nothing. I have always been a faithful Ford customer and with this vehicle I will surely continue to be. The only down side is the ignition which I feel should be lighted. The ride is extremely smooth and confortable. I'm not a petite person and I find the seating very confortable with plenty of leg room. To me this is a dream car and I look forward to many years of driving enjoyment.

    2003 Ford Escape - Limited (600B) 4x4

Pros: Compact enough to park anywhere

    Cons: Wind noise

Advice: If you do not like large SUVs

I got my Limited Escape (all black, including black leather seats) in December 2002 - I absolutely love it! It is powerful with V6, but it does not have the 'clumsy' feel of a Ford Explorer. I do not have a family, so it is spacious enough for all my needs - and my friends are really impressed with it - some of them have Toyotas & Hondas.

    2003 Ford Escape - XLT Premium (420B) 4x4

Pros: Engine pick up, sporty look

Cons: rear head rests get in the way, front & windshield wipers are confusing

Advice: check consumer reports! this rated fairly well.......

I previously owned a Ford Explorer 2x2, 2 door for 9 years. That was my dream car and I would have gotten it again but I needed a 4 door this time and finances weren't enough to get an Explorer 4 door. I also thought the Explorer 4 door was a little to big for me so I went one notch down to the Escape. The size is more appropriate for me. I've had it 2 months now and it is a very fast car- I have to constantly make sure I'm not speeding.

    2003 Ford Escape - Limited (600B) 4x4

    Pros: V-6

    Cons: Transmission Lever

Advice: Get the Limited 4x4, you will love it

I just bought mine the end of February of 03 and I have loved it with the first test drive. I've always purchased Toyota's and still remain a loyal toyota buyer but I was impressed with this sport ute and love the V-6 Power. The wind noise could be dampened and the transmission lever moved but other than that I'm really impressed with this ford and love it.

2003 Ford Escape - XLT Premium (320B) FWD

    Pros: V-6

Cons: Interrior configuration of headrest on back seat.

Advice: Test drive them all in this class before settling for a ho-hum Japanese entry.

Of the vehicles in this class, I found the drive in the escape to be fun. The rest with four cylinder engines lacke any sort of excitement. The cars in this class are so close and competitve Ford balanced gas milage with fun!

2003 Ford Escape - XLT Popular (300B) FWD

    Pros: Power assisted drivers seat

Cons: location of the ignition is too low on the steering column

Advice: Spend a little more and get the XLT over the XLS

I've only had my Escape XLT for a couple of weeks and so far I am very happy with it. It looks great and the 3.0 V6 cyl has more power than I thought it would. With 16' OWL tires and cast aluminum wheels, fog lamps, privacy glass, roof rack, rear cargo cover, etc, the XLT is a very good buy.

    2003 Ford Escape - Limited (600B) 4x4

    Pros: Mach 1 stereo system

Cons: No passenger side electric seat adjustment

Advice: Look for one with everything you want in it and you will not regret it.

The test drive was everything I expected and more. Easy steering and control comfort and overall excellent performance.
