2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid Video Review

The 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid took home Autobytel's Alternative Fuel Car of the Year for 2013 for a very good reason - it offers impressive fuel economy and space all in one fun-to-drive package. It also gives the Toyota Prius V some much needed competition.

Walking around the C-Max Hybrid, you might think to yourself that this looks to be an enlarged Focus hatchback. Guess what? You would be correct. The C-Max has a similar design and rides on the same platform as the Focus. The interior is the same story since the C-Max Hybrid has a similar dashboard layout as the Focus. Interior passenger space has increased due to the shape of the C-Max. Cargo space does take a hit due to the battery residing in the floor, but it is larger than the Focus.

Powering the C-Max Hybrid is Ford's Hybrid System which pairs a 2.0L DOHC Atkinson cycle inline-four engine and a 88 kW electric motor. Total power output is 188 horsepower and 129 pound-feet of torque. A eCVT is your sole transmission choice. The EPA rates C-Max Hybrid at 47 City/47 Highway/47 Combined.

Pricing for the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid starts at $25,200 for the C-Max Hybrid SE model and comes equipped with Ford's SmartGuage (two screens in the instrument cluster that display fuel economy and trip computer information), SYNC, and electronic dual-zone climate control. The C-Max Hybrid SEL model starts at $28,365 and comes with MyFordTouch infotainment system, leather seats, back-up sensors, keyless entry, and a power driver's seat.
