Although joining the exclusive owners’ club for the 2014 SRT Viper requires a six-figure outlay, joining the development team can be free; in fact, you can even get rewarded for your efforts, thanks to a new contest from the SRT brand. It seems designers are ready to premiere another new exterior color for the car and have issued an open call for name suggestions.

Info about submissions (and other details) are available at www.DriverSRT.com/ColorContest, with the folks able to provide their suggestions through Oct. 24, 2013. After that, the SRT design staff will narrow the number of entries down to their three favorites, then open the final decision to the public, via online voting at the Drive SRT website.

The winner will receive a trip to see the 2014 SRT Viper racecar in action at next year’s 24 Hours at Daytona endurance classic, currently slated for January of 2014.

“‘The SRT Viper Color Contest’ gives our Viper enthusiasts an opportunity to be original, creative and contribute to the exterior design of our flagship American supercar,” said Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of the SRT Brand and Motorsports for the Chrysler Group LLC. “Already available in a wide array of exterior color combinations, which provides our owners a way to personalize their cars, this contest is a great way for our dedicated fans to connect with the SRT brand and become an authentic part of Viper history.”
