Pros: Nice truck
Cons: Customer service
Advice: Don't buy anything form Dodge/ChryslerI am writing this letter to inform you of the terrible customer service your company is providing. I bought a new 2002 Dodge Ram 4x4 last January. It currently is less than two years old and has less than 23,000 miles. The truck has had three safety recalls and a steering gear is having to be replaced. Yet none of those problems are what I am upset about. What is upsetting is that I am being forced to pay for a rental car while all this is repaired. I know in your basic warranty that it says rental service is not covered. However I think certain exceptions should be made. For one, the recall issues should be completely your company's responsibility and you should do everything possible to make it as pleasant as possible to have them repaired. That does not mean offerring a ride to my house while it is being fixed. I work and go to school and a vehicle is important for me to get to both. The second issue is that I am now being forced to pay for a rental car while the replacement steering gear is shipped. I was told it would take 4-5 days to get here. The least you could do is have the part overnighted. I will admit that the dealership said I could take my truck but I would have to sign a waiver that if the problem became worse Dodge would not pay for any of the repair. They say that word of mouth is the best form of advertising and I am letting you know that this letter is being posted to every consumer review board I can find on the internet and I am also forwarding it to every contact I have in my address book and asking them to do the same. Hopefully this will at least get you to look at your warranty policy and rethink some of the terms. Sincerely, Billy Spencer
Pros: 20 inch wheels
Cons: the recalls 2 of them
Advice: get the HEMIgot the 4.7 but wished I had the hemi spend the 750.00 more and get it
Pros: it's black
Cons: gas mileage
Advice: go for iti love my truck plenty of a$$ under the hood plenty of room in side nice factory sound system
Pros: Power, Handling and four doors
Cons: Poor electrical system which Dodge refuses to stand behind
Advice: Don't modify your Ram unless it is done by Dodge, or buy a FordBeing a prior ram diesel owner, I wanted another Ram for the wife and kids that would be more of a grocery getter and easier to park than a one ton diesel. I was very attracted to the style and the safe driver feeling. I wanted the 5.9 liter for the towing power, plus the hotrod feeling. I was also turned on by curtain air bags 'safety for the kids'.
Pros: Commanding view of road/safety features and ratings
Cons: Jiggly ride unloaded on rough road (very minor beef)
Advice: Look at IIHS safety ratings and test drive on winding roadI've owned my Ram for 3 months and I'm extremely pleased with it so far. The feel on the road is supersmooth for a pick-up, and it corners like a quality sedan (I live in the mountains so I corner A LOT!) The ride can get a bit bouncy on rough roads, but I will happily live with this minor idiosyncrasy to have a full-size truck as nimble as this one -- 4X4 handling is real nice on moderate dirt. The 4.7-liter V8 is a bit of a guzzler (and which one isn't?), but it's quiet and has plenty of oomph when needed. Interior is a fine blend of style, comfort, and utility. Other: brakes - great, shifting - smooth, view from cab - hello down there!
Pros: Easy to drive
Cons: ac not cold enough
Advice: go for itOwn a 2002 1500 quad cab and love it; very sapcious. The 4.7 Sounds mean and gets the job done. Tough truck easy to drive and feels nice. if your a dodge fan buy one
Pros: Appearance and comfortability.
Cons: The squared edges of the dashboard
Advice: Go for it!This truck doesn't feel like your driving a truck! Easy handling and a VERRRY smooth ride.. I traded in my Ford F-150 for this truck and never thought I could be this blown away by its performance and appearance. If you haven't been able to make up your mind, test drive it, that's all it will take for you to choose this truck. I'm happy with the decision I made to switch from the Ford F-150 to the Dodge 1500. (Watch out Ford, there just might be a new best selling truck in the coming years, and it won't be a Ford.) By the way... go for the 20's (rims)
