2007 Dodge Nitro - SXT 4x2
Submitted on 1/30/2008 1:25:47 PM- Summary
Pros: Remote start
Cons: Front seats are limited to movement.
Advice: Wait until Dodge works out all the kinks. I personally have not had major problems with mine, but I have heard of soo many people who have.
The Nitro drives great, and has great back seat space. Perfect for a small family. I have not had any mechanical problems with my Nitro but there have been a few little problems. Both of the front seat headrests have the entertainment systems in them, I’m not sure if they were damaged while they were putting them in, but I could always hear a 'rattling' noise while driving. It was in for repair 5 times before they just gave up and ordered a complete new system. And the other problem that I've had has been with the head rails on top of the vehicle. They kept coming loose and finally cracked. The dealership was happy to replace them but it is a pain having to take it in every couple of weeks. Overall I love my NITRO!! I have thought about looking into another vehicle only because I have heard about all the flaws the Nitro’s have but have decided that I love this car too much to trade it in.

2007 Dodge Nitro - SXT 4x2
Submitted on 1/26/2008 4:30:42 PM- Summary
Pros: Nothing that is a favorite, (I just want everything to work that they put in)
Cons: Vacuum pressure at highway speeds/ Drivers seat, limited positions to set the seat.
Advice: If your big in size, make sure you are comfortable
So far no problems with the engine, enough zip, fair gas mileage, but one major problem that I experience and even the nitro dealer book mentions it, is when my daughter is in the back seat and rolls her window down, it creates a vacuum in the drivers seat to where you have to roll down the window to break the pressure because it feels like your ears are going to explode with the pressure buildup. This is at freeway speeds. And I know this sounds crazy but it is true, and I have been told there is nothing they can do about it.

2007 Dodge Nitro - SXT 4x2
Submitted on 5/10/2007 1:06:11 AM- Summary
Pros: the head room, the style, the bold design,
Cons: the seat's themself only certain positions (not good for long leggs)
Advice: let dodge work out the first year buggs first (dont buy right now
My Dodge Nitro Is 2 months old, (LEASED) I have current issues with the: Transmition Hesitating (Bucking) 3 Defective Tires,(Good Year) Defective rear passenger window molding, a radio that sends buzzing and popping through the speakers, a cargo flip over tray that is bowed outward so It wont stay in its clasps. and some type of tool or object sealed under the carpet In the passenger rear floor(now the carpet is not secure. my front end shakes at 45 mph (could be the tires) there is a winning sound coming from the car when shifting to reverse. I go back to service dept today. The POINT - This Is a New S.U.V. I should not be having so many Issues I can't even Invoke the Lemon Law) everyone.. please wait till all the 1st year buggs are worked out. not everyone is having all these issues, but it up to you. finally, I really like my Nitro.... when its fixed right.

2007 Dodge Nitro - SXT 4x4
Submitted on 4/4/2007 7:42:54 PM- Summary
Pros: Interior Space
Cons: Transmission
Advice: See Review---Stay away until they figure out the transmission problems.
Do not buy the Nitro at this time. I bought a 2007 and have had transmission problems that started about a month after I got it. I've taken it in for flash computer upgrades, but it still has a bucking problem. I did some research and found that this is not an isolated case. It seems that corporate really doesn't know what to do. They keep sending you back to reprogram the computer to make you feel better for a while, but it doesn't fix the problem. I have owned a Chevy and a Ford before this and have never had these problems. I would say to anyone looking at the Nitro... get something else or wait until they get this transmission problem taken care of. I personally will never buy a Dodge again. Their first impression was not favorable.

Great car
Sister-in-law bought one and she loves it. Great on gas and just the right size.
