Pros: Third row seating
Cons: Rear windo washer control
Advice: Have a look at the competition, then buy the Dodge.Checked this vehicle against the competition... There really wasn't any. Hemi gives good performance. Fuel economy is about the same as for our Grand Cherokee Laredo that we traded with the 4.7. Around 15 in town and about 20 highway. Ride is much better than the Jeep. Quiet... Very little road noise. Not as agile as the Jeep, but it's a bigger vehicle. Fit and finish leave little to complain about. ZERO defects or problems.
Pros: The ride and handling
Cons: Nothing most might say the gas mileage but you know that before you buy it.
Advice: Wonderful Vehicle good investment.Me and my wife wanted a new vehicle. We had a I believe it was an 02 model Jeep Liberty. It was leased big mistake, so we wanted to get out from under the lease. So we went to Johnny Watkins in London Kentucky. We were actually looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee but when I drove the Durango and saw the room it had it was a sure thing to buy. It was roomy and handled great for a SUV. To say that it handles is an understatment, in Decemeber we were going to Virgina and I was doing about 50mph and TWO DEER ran out in front of us I swerved hard left then hard right in I would say most SUV's it would have flipped but this one did not. Believe me I know the good lord up abouve put me in the Durango for a reason and it showed that night.
Pros: Hemi V8 and power open tailgate
Cons: Have to drive conservatively to maintain decent fuel economy
Advice: Buy if you like ammenities and power and can afford larger than normal payouts at the pump.I did my shopping before buying this vehicle and looked at just about every model SUV in the mid-size and large SUV category. The Durango has more power (with Hemi) and the best entry into the third row of any SUV (try it and you'll know). The ride is fairly quiet considering the size of engine and the seats are extremely comfortable, I'm 6'2' and fit well up front and in the middle behind a somewhat shorter driver. I fit well in the third row but wouldn't want to ride long distances there. Fuel economy suffers from the V8 but with available MDS on the Hemi it will average out with the best Large SUV's but a bit worse than the mid-size SUV's. Blind spots are small and the cabin offers a commanding view of the road. While driving the Durango you will swear you are driving a smaller vehicle. I would like to see less hard plastic on the dash and door panels but the controls are well placed and easy to reach. Outside body styling may seem extreme to some but it helps a mid-size SUV appear smaller than it really is. This vehicle offers a lot of technology for the money.
Pros: dvd player
Cons: gas mileage, all four wheels are pitted
Advice: look fit and finish over very closelyloved the durango on test drive, shoulda paid attention when the salesman put ten bucks in the tank and the needle didnt move
