2003 Dodge Dakota - Sport 4x2 Club Cab

Pros: Great low end torque for pulling heavy loads

Cons: Lack of remotely controlled side mirrors.

Advice: Highly recommend the 4.7 V8 and 545RFE transmission

After more than three years and 52,000 miles my Dakota Club Cab Sport, 4.7 automatic has proven to be exceptionally reliable and trouble-free. The lifetime average fuel consumption is 16.76, with a number of highway trips delivering over 22.5 MPG. The Goodyear SRA tires were replaced with Michelin LTXs just last week. The front brakes and rotors were replaced at 43K. This truck is the best of both worlds, not too big and not too small, with better than average handling and more than acceptable ride comfort.

2003 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x4 Regular Cab

    Pros: V-8

Cons: Gas Mileage - I know V-8 and complaing about fuel economy....

    Advice: Overall a great truck.

Good power for the 2003 model line-ups. More power then a Tacoma, Frontier. Gas mileage not the best but what do you expect from a V-8 truck. Great value for the price (options).

2003 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x2 Regular Cab

Pros: It's the only V-8 in the mid-size class.

    Cons: Plastic skid plate

    Advice: get the 4.7 V-8, It'll tow (for a 'mid-size')

It's not really a mid size compared to all the others in it's category. It has more room and more power than Toyota, Chevy, Nissan, and Ford. I have 50,000 miles on it so far, and I haven't a complaint.

2003 Dodge Dakota - Sport 4x2 Regular Cab

    Pros: Performance and handeling

    Cons: noisy blower fan

Advice: If you have the choice go with the V8. Not much more & than the V6 but more fun to drive

I am very happy with the new 5 speed auto tranny that Dodge has matched up with the 4.7 V8 in this truck. I ordered the Stampede edition when I purchased mine and love the looks and feel of the truck. Great performance and all around driveability out of this truck in my oppinion.

2003 Dodge Dakota - Base 4x2 Regular Cab

    Pros: the 5 speed tranny

    Cons: 2 wheel drive

Advice: buy it but go with and extended cab 4x4 but get a v-6 and 5 speed

This truck runs great and looks amazing. With a 3.9L v-6 and a 5 speed you own the streets

2003 Dodge Dakota - SLT 4x4 Regular Cab

Pros: AWD feature, 4.7 V-8, towing package, interior room.

Cons: Gas Mileage (but I didn't buy a truck to get good mileage)

Advice: Best truck in this segment.

Just the right size. Not too small, not too big. Does everything the 'big' trucks (i.e. Ford F-150, Chevy 1500, Dodge 1500) do and still fits in the garage!

2003 Dodge Dakota - Sport 4x2 Regular Cab

    Pros: Roomy cab.

    Cons: Highway stability & brakes.

Advice: Look at all competitors: Ford, Toyota, etc.

Interior is nicely designed. Exhaust on V6 loud. Auto-transmission shifting fair...sometimes shifts when you don't expect it would. If you hit a bump in the road on an interstate at high speed (65 mph), be prepared to be tossed around. Poor brakes.
