Drawing its cues from a classic, the brand-new 2015 Dodge Challenger T/A Concept will be among the many Chrysler Group products prepped for SEMA by its Mopar service, parts and customer-care brand. The event itself is the largest aftermarket-only auto show in the world and is scheduled to open November 4 in Las Vegas.

As for the 2015 Dodge Challenger T/A Concept, it was designed to show that "the big gun in the Dodge brand's muscle-car arsenal hasn't forgotten its roots." And in this case, said roots stretch all the way back to the 1970 Challenger T/A driven by motorsports legend Sam Posey during the Golden Age of U.S. road racing. The result is a retro-style exterior combining a "Sublime Green" finish with matte-black T/A striping on the sides, a matching matte-black hood (with functional scoop), matte-black 20-inch aluminum wheels and similarly shaded aero pieces, including a rear deck-lid spoiler and front splitter. Even the rear and side exhaust tips get a black, ceramic-coated finish.

The cabin of the 2015 Dodge Challenger T/A concept takes a performance-oriented approach as well, deleting the rear seats while adding a hi-po flat-bottomed steering wheel, carbon-fiber sport seats for the driver and passenger, a pistol-style shifter and premium instrumentation.

Of course, like the Posey-piloted version, the 2015 Dodge Challenger T/A provides much more than an appearance upgrade. There's also cold-air induction to help squeeze a few more horses from the car's 6.4-liter HEMI V8, along with Brembo six-piston calipers, with two-piece slotted and vented rotors, to help rein them in.

And while the 2015 Dodge Challenger T/A hasn't been approved for production—yet—many of its upgrades come straight from the Mopar accessories catalog, making it easy for owners to do a little customizing of their own.

Said Pietro Gorlier, president and CEO of Mopar: “Each creation we dream up for SEMA represents an original, unique interpretation of how customers can personalize and transform their vehicles with an assist from Mopar products. Our modified SEMA rides prove that whether owners are seeking more power, performance and style for the street, extra capabilities to get the job done or the freedom to go off-road and beyond, Mopar has the products to help get them there.”
