2006 Dodge Caravan - SXT Passenger

    Pros: Roominess

Cons: No tow package on it

Advice: Look at its looks and style ! How can you consider anything else ?

Great all around sensible vehicle, much easier to get in and out of compared to a sedan car ! Roomy, easy and quiet to drive. Can not understand where a 'noisy interior' comes from in one owner's comment. A terrific family van, so much better overall, and appearance, than competitors. Much better than SUV with ease in entering and exiting. Drives beautifully. With care and sensible driving, this is a long lasting beauty !

2006 Dodge Caravan - SXT Passenger

Pros: Electric sliding side doors & back door.

Cons: Quality of paint and assembly.

Advice: Don't buy from a dealer that provides poor service, because you will NEED good service.

My DGC has 7400 miles on it. It has a 3.8 engine. It rides well on smooth roads. It is comfortable when driving in town and the highway. The AC works well in the summer at 100+. Visibility is great. In the east, many cities have the signal lights so high it is difficult to see W/O pulling your neck out of your torso. So I like the driver view. The heater works great in the winter at 0. I get 20 MPG in the city and 25-27 MPG on the highway using the AC. I always use the AC when it is 70+ outside.

2006 Dodge Caravan - SXT Passenger

Pros: RWD pushes you instead of pulling you

Cons: No dealer was willing to negotiate but I bought and SXT for $19,500 -leather 3.5L

Advice: SXT 3.5Lis so fast...I can't imagine the R/T! This can be a very very dangerous ride if you are not careful!

Even the SXT 3.5HO is Powerful! Spins out on every acceleration. Every single detail is included in this car. It took me a month to figure it all out. I'm still finding out new things like puncture proof tires.

2006 Dodge Caravan - SXT Passenger

    Pros: Dual Climate Control

Cons: 12 mpg. Stated is supposed to be 19-26mpg.

Advice: Don't buy if you want great gas mileage.

We had a 2002 Explorer 4x4 ($551 per month financed) that got 16-18mpg and needed something with better gas mileage for our out-of-town trips. We bought a 2006 Caravan SXT for $25,035 ($588 per month plus $45 more per month in insurance) because with the mpg on the Caravan it should save us money in the long run. Exactly ONE week after buying this BRAND NEW vehicle, it gets 12.006 mpg and is currently in the shop getting looked at. The dealer (DodgeLand of Columbia) doesn't have a loaner vehicle even though the vehicle they sold me has problems, so I am without a car for the first time in 7 years. The inside is roomy and my 2 children love the van, they sit in a different seat each time we get in. But overall, I'm very disappointed in the purchase. I should have stuck with Ford!

2006 Dodge Caravan - SE Passenger

Pros: DVD Player, sliding doors on both sides of vehicle, awesome A/C

    Cons: no rear defroster

Advice: do your homework and research vans, be careful who you do business with

Up to now we have driven a 94 Voyager SE and an 86 Volvo. We were not looking for a sports car, we wanted a family car. We compared several different models such as KIA, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevy. Toyotas and Hondas are priced crazy. Kias were the only other cost effective van. I did not like the Kia as much because of the tray in the middle of the front seats. I felt after a few kicks from my three year old, that tray would be broken. The Caravan was cost effective. I wanted a basic model with radio and A/C. No other features would change our like or dislike for the vehicle. This one came with a Entertainment package (DVD player, earphones not included), a roof rack, and pearl gold paint. The sticker price was $20,446. We took advantage of the $4000 rebates and got a great deal for $17,446 when all was said and done. The car is worth over $18,000. So I feel like we got a great deal. It's a step up for us.
