2003 Dodge Caravan - Sport Passenger

    Pros: comfort of front seats

Cons: in need of constant repairs.

Advice: Just don't buy one.....keep your sanity.

We bought our Grand Caravan Sport in July/03. Before it had 13,000kms on it, the brake roters died on it and had to be replaced. The front strut mount went after 13 months. It just went again....9 months later!!! Brakes are totally worn out now too. The plastic cupholders broke after months. This van is a terrible waste of money. Honda CRV....here we come. I will NEVER own an American made vehicle again!

2003 Dodge Caravan - Sport Passenger

    Pros: comfort

    Cons: cost of repairs

    Advice: stay away

Drives good. Comfortable on long trips. I have had numerous and very expensive problems with my 2001 Grand Caravan. The two most recent are both window motors went out within a week of each other and A/C problems. The motors will cost over $500 to repair. The A/C has a problem with the drivers side regulation of cold air. Apparently there is a door stuck internally and the hot and cold air mix resulting in a very uncomfortable summer. This problem alone is estimated to cost $700 because the dash must be removed. The dealer and Dodge/Chrysler have refused any assistance. I paid $24K for this vehicle and will never buy another Dodge/Chrysler product.

2003 Dodge Caravan - SE Passenger

    Pros: SMOOTH RUNNING ENGINE

    Cons: WIND NOISE

Advice: BUY IF YOU NEED JUST AN OK MINIVAN

POWER IS QUITE GOOD, RIDE IS OK ON SMOOTH ROADS, BUT NOT SO GOOD ON BUMPY ROADS. WIND NOISE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IS AWFUL-MAINLY AROUND THE SLIDING DOORS. SLIDING DOORS LEAK WHEN USING A HIGH PRESSURE CAR WASH. DEALER SAID MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THIS, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT--YEAH RIGHT!! ALL IN ALL NOT A BAD VAN FOR THE PRICE.

2003 Dodge Caravan - SE Passenger

    Pros: comfort of seats

    Cons: transmission problems

Advice: ask where the parts are made. I found out Dodge no longer makes all its part leaving more problems mechanically

Well, when I test drove it, it seemed like it was perfect. It drove smoothly and had lots of lift for a caravan. The upgrades were incredible and the color was patriot blue-perfect. However, I am thankful I bought the warranty on it because I have had two major problems with it-one being transmission. I feel it is way too early for the vehicle to be giving me problems since I barely have 14,000 miles on it since I bought it back in November of 2002. chrisputnam1@juno.com
