That being said, there are always a few examples that stand out for one reason or another, making them well worth a test drive before you decide what your next compact car purchase will be.

All versions of the Corolla come with a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine that puts out 132 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is included free of charge, but a four-speed automatic can be added as an option.
