The 2004 Mazda MX-5 Miata is a 2-door, 2-passenger convertible, available in two trims, the Cloth and the LS. The 2004 Mazda MX-5 Miata's competitors include the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and the Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible. Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 1.8-liter, I4, 142-horsepower engine that achieves 23-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive are optional. The 2004 Mazda MX-5 Miata is a carryover from 2003.
