Highlights of the current M3 include a choice between coupe and convertible with a 333-horsepower inline six capable of accelerating the coupe to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, according to BMW. If the 2008 BMW M3 cannot match that acceleration, purists might wonder what the point of the V8 is.
