In order to keep pace with rides like the 2006 Toyota RAV4, Lexus engineers planted Toyota’s impressive new 3.5-liter V6 engine into their most popular crossover, and the result is the 2007 RX 350. The engine makes 268 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque (one pony shy and two lb.-ft. more than the RAV4), a boost of around 45 horsepower and 10 lb.-ft., with improved fuel efficiency and emissions. The engine features technology such as sequential fuel injection and electronic throttle control with intelligence (ETC-i). Front- and all-wheel-drive models will be available. Interior upgrades include a quieter cabin and a new eight-speaker standard entertainment system that’s satellite ready and offers an in-dash six-disc CD changer. A Mark Levinson premium audio system is also available. Expect to see the RX 350 by the end of the year at prices starting around $37,000.
