Page 2 of 2 Specifications & Summary Summary The 2009 Volkswagen Routan doesn't break any new ground, especially considering that the basic vehicle has been available for a year with Dodge or Chrysler badges. However, we think that the changes made to make the Routan a VW help considerably. The suspension is definitely superior, the steering feels better, and the driver's seat is also improved. However, we think the inherent shortcomings Volkswagen had to accept with the platform it chose hobble the VW Routan. Volkswagen says it was aiming for the Honda Odyssey -- it's not a bull's-eye, but we'll concede it's closer than the Dodge and Chrysler, and probably close enough to meet the company's modest sales targets.
