Specifications & Summary

Summary

The 2008 Saab 9-3 Turbo X Sport Sedan is, in many ways, a victim of its birthright. As part of the General Motors family of companies, Saab built the 9-3 on the company's Epsilon platform, underpinnings it shares with the Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura. In some respects, maybe we can forgive Saab, since they've clearly done more with the chassis and drivetrain than any other GM division. But we can't forgive the mediocre interior, numb steering, or complete lack of excitement we feel while driving the Turbo X. For 2009, the Turbo X disappears, but its component pieces live on in the Aero versions of the sedan and wagon versions of the 9-3. With a new version of the 9-3 on the horizon, we suggest all but the most ardent Saab lovers keep shopping.
