Model Mix
Differences from the Camry XLE include a standard Smart Entry keyless locking and push-button start system, power door locks and windows with an anti-lockout feature, and air conditioning driven by an electric motor.
For the first time, the Camry will be available with a gasoline/electric hybrid powertrain, a major development in Toyota’s continuing drive to sprinkle its Hybrid Synergy Drive technology throughout its vehicle lineup and creating a natural extension of the successful Prius. Much like the standard Camry XLE model, the Camry Hybrid comes with all the trimmings, including alloy wheels with P215/60R16 tires, daytime running lights, power heated outside mirrors, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and an eight-speaker stereo with a six-disc in-dash CD changer that’s MP3 compatible and pumps out 440 watts. Also standard on the 2007 Camry Hybrid is a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a tilt and telescopic steering wheel. Safety equipment includes dual front, seat-mounted side-impact, and side-curtain airbags along with a driver’s knee airbag. Additional safety features found on every Camry Hybrid include an Antilock Braking System (ABS) and Toyota’s Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) which includes traction control, stability control, and other electronic devices designed to maximize vehicle control. Differences between the gas-engined Camry XLE model and the Camry Hybrid include the Hybrid’s standard Smart Entry keyless locking and push button start system, power door locks and windows with an anti-lockout feature, and an air conditioning system driven by an electric motor so that the A/C works whether you’re running on battery power or engine mojo. The Hybrid does lose the XLE’s reclining rear seats, but keeps a 60/40-split folding rear seat for added utility. Options for the Camry Hybrid include a leather trimmed interior, a power moonroof, and a navigation system with a four-disc CD changer and Bluetooth capability. All Camrys come with Toyota’s basic limited warranty coverage which offers three-year or 36,000-mile comprehensive coverage, five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain coverage, and five-year or unlimited mileage corrosion perforation. Specific hybrid components are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
