The 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe possesses several interesting attributes. Among them is the exhaust note. Quiet and sedate under light acceleration, the Viper becomes a whole new animal when the accelerator is mashed to the floor. A deep growl resonates around you as you launch forward, but the real enjoyment comes when backing off the throttle. The Viper snaps, cracks and pops with all the fury of a thoroughbred racecar, the only downside being that it garners unwanted attention from local enforcement within a two-block radius. Another nice touch is the use of the Viper logo as the center-mounted brake light. Looking like a badge, it lights up when the brakes are applied, revealing the ghosted image of a Viper snake. But the 2006 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe earns the coolness award simply because it is what it is: Raw American muscle at its finest.
