Consider this the land of misfit cars, with plenty of love to give but too few buyers willing to give love back. Some are unpopular because of gas prices, and indeed, the majority of this list is made up of trucks and SUVs. There are other reasons, however: some get whupped by the competition and need rebates to sell, and some are being pushed out by newer and better replacements, like the Chevrolet Silverado or Toyota Tundra. Bottom line: if it sits, it gets an incentive, either via the automaker or the dealer.
So -- the best deal of all? Either the Dodge Ram, with a whopping 20 percent off the base model sticker price. That's actually down from the 26 percent discount you could've gotten in August, when Employee Pricing was still in place. Now, however, you'll have to settle for $4,000 off or the option of zero percent financing. Note: Many of the deals listed here may expire on Sept. 5th; be sure to always check for updates. For whatever the reason, however, all the following vehicles are deals, though we’d question how smart of a purchase some of these are given fuel prices, safety ratings and comparable vehicles. Smart shoppers should read a review before making a decision, and will keep in mind the long term value of the vehicle they choose.
