"I waited a month for my red Prius to arrive from Japan and I'm thrilled to hear that in 2007 they will begin manufacturing this car in KY. I love everything about this car, but I purchased the car primarily because it produces very little CO2 emissions and it has great MPG. I have owned the car for six months now and usually get highway MPG in the high 40's to low 50's. My experience was to get 49-52 MPG in late summer and fall, but 42-44 MPG in the winter. Now at winter's end, I've been averaging 47-48 MPG. In the city, it averages higher MPG. Traveling at high speeds on the interstate, it averages 45-46 MPG. The car is extremely quiet and provides a very smooth ride for driver and passenger. The car is roomy and very comfortable. Another huge plus is the auxiliary jack that allows my ipod to play and the rear back up camera. A really convenient feature is the smart key system that allows me to leave the key in my purse, but sensing the key is present, the car allows my entry and permits me to push the power button. I also find the display screen very easy to use when adjusting audio or climate controls. Owning this car has actually made it fun to drive again and something to look forward to whenever daily travel is needed. There are three things that I would change about the car's design, if I could. 1) I would like the car to be a little higher. It picked up a stick underneath the car once, when traveling up someone's driveway. 2) I would appreciate having a mute button on the steering wheel as another option to control the audio volume. 3) I would like to see the car doors automatically lock when I place the car in reverse. Another added bonus about the 2006 Prius was the $3,150 tax credit offered."

"I bought the Prius because of the (1) mileage, and (2) the environmental impact. After putting 4000+ miles on it, I find it's a great car in many other ways. The Prius is fun to drive, very comfortable, spacious, and filled with high-tech feature, which I enjoy, being a Tech-Head. The fit and finish are first-rate, as I espect from Toyota. My gasoline bill for the last three months had dropped about $250, over what I was paying for the Volvo XC70, which sits forlornly neglected (until ski season, that it).
Some minuses: the ride is a bit soft for me, the speedo display and clock are very dim and hard to read, and the JBL sound system is a bit whimpy, for the cost. Other than that, the Prius is what I wanted in a car."

"Great 'little' vehicle !!! Very roomy inside, lots of fun to drive. I have owned many Hondas in the past, but never a Toyota, wish I had changed emblems years ago. My wife and I (both in our 50's) are really amazed at this technology. We are the second ones in our small south Texas town to own a Prius. Our engineer sons made fun of our 'old lady Honda Pilot' but seem to be impressed with our new acquisition. I am definitely not a tree-hugger, but I am very green conscience when it comes to the green found in my wallet.

"This is my 2nd Prius (2006), my 1st was hit broadside by an elderly woman who ran a red light at 45+ mph, spinning me around 2 1/2 times. I had no injuries but my 2005 was basically totaled. I get 47+ mpg in mixed driving. The $3,000 tax credit will make savings on the car even better. It is fun to drive and fun to pay attention to your mpg consumption, so you can increase mpg by the way you drive. My best was 51 mpg, not bad with more than adaquate performance. This has the smart key and back up camera a definite plus! Get leather its worth it."

"Wonderful ! If you pay attention to the gas and electric motor display you can save on gas. But its great even if you don't watch the display. I have over one thousand miles and got 50.6 MPG.HWY and city. Things are easy to read and operate. It takes getting used to the motor not being on when you brake or at a stop light. BUT HEY I'M NOT SPENDING IT AT THE PUMPS. Got what I wanted."
