The 2006 MINI Cooper is a 2-door, up to 4-passenger family coupe, sports coupe, convertible, or convertible sports car, available in 4 trims, ranging from the Base to the S Convertible. Upon introduction, the Base is equipped with a standard 1.6-liter, I4, 115-horsepower engine that achieves 28-mpg in the city and 36-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a variable speed automatic transmission is optional. The S Convertible is equipped with a standard 1.6-liter, I4, 168-horsepower, supercharged engine that achieves 25-mpg in the city and 32-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, and a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2006 MINI Cooper is a carryover from 2005.
