The 2004 Chevrolet Suburban is a 4-door, up to 9-passenger sport-utility, available in 4 trims, ranging from the 1500 2WD to the 2500 4WD. The 2004 Chevrolet Suburban's competitors include the Buick Rainier, the GMC Yukon XL, and the Toyota Sequoia. Upon introduction, the 1500 2WD is equipped with a standard 5.3-liter, V8, 295-horsepower, flexible fuel engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 18-mpg on the highway. The 2500 4WD is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V8, 325-horsepower engine. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
