The 2003 Xterra is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility, available in 7 trims, ranging from the XE I4 4X2 to the SE 4X4 Supercharged. The 2003 Xterra's closest competitors include the Buick Rendezvous, the Isuzu Rodeo Sport, and the Toyota RAV4. Upon introduction, the XE I4 4X2 is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 143-horsepower engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The SE 4X4 Supercharged is equipped with a standard 3.3-liter, V6, 210-horsepower, supercharged engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 18-mpg on the highway.
