Advice to buyer: |
Make sure you are very familiar with the driving characterists of this car at 65-70 MPH. As one other reviewer has noted, it will drive you crazy. |
Detailed review: |
If you are thinking of buying a 1999 Miata, test drive this car for a period of time at 65-70 MPH. Other owners and myself have reported extreme shudder at this speed and I know of one case in which this became a lemon law issue in which Mazda had to re-purchase the car. Don't let them convince you this is a light weight sport car on low profile wheels and it is normal. It is not. Why there has not been more publicity concerning this, I don't know. But I'm going to do my part by posting this review. Of the 3 dealerships I have dealt with concerning this problem, none have acknowledged that this is a frequent complaint about these vechicles. On the bright side, handling, engine, and looks couldn't be better. |
