I bought a Mazda3 the very first year they were available and loved it! It was an S-model 5 speed. Xenon lights and power moonroof were definitely worth the money!
Unfortunately my husband and I were in a very bad accident a year ago and my Mazda3 was totaled when a tractor trailer rear-ended us and pushed us into 3 more vehicles, but miraculously all of the safety features (crumple zones, seat belts, seats, etc.) did exactly what they were supposed to do and we walked away from the car with only scratches and a few bruises. Aside from all that I loved about the car that led me to buy it in the first place, I now can't say enough good things about the safety of that car as well! Though no one wants to be in an accident, I'm relieved to know I was in such a safe car when it happened! People that day said they couldn't recognize the car, but said that whatever it was, we should buy another one if we were able to walk away from such a bad accident with only scratches!
I now have a Mazda6 (3's were on backorder when I needed to get another car) and I KNEW that I wanted to stay with a Mazda after this experience. It is a very nice car too, but I miss the more stylish and compact look of the 3. The 6 offers more horsepower, but if it weren't for that, I'd trade it again for a Mazda3 in a heartbeat! Loved it!
