I test drove the 3I and ended up buying the 2.3L 3S hatchback 5-speed. I really don't see the difference in the 2 engines as far as pickup. But the car rides great and has plenty of pep.
Although it has some strange 'ergonomics' features inside that I've noticed since owning it: The tripometer 'font' size is noticably larger and placed on 'top' of the mileage indicator (which is a tiny number as well; i.e., 8 font & 6 font). The emergency brake handle is located on the passenger side in the middle of the two seats, not on the driver side; the radio, I think, doesn't have THAT great of a reception, even with the 'stick' antenna on the roof.
One other thing - the engine has a minor 'shimmy' when it's started, just for a couple seconds, as the key is turned.
There is noticably smaller truck space in the hatchback from the 4-dr sedan. But it does have a cover to hide any trunk contents.
I only put @ 70 miles on the car so far, so I can't criticize much; the car rides great and does have great pickup and smooth acceleration and deacceleration for a 5-speed.
What really sold me is the 4 year-50,000K warranty. |
