Detailed review: |
I just test drove a 2005 Chevy Aveo LT 4 Door Sedan today.
I was pleasantly surprised by the cars roominess (I'm 6' tall) as well as it's peppy little 4banger engine. I was expecting to feel cramped but had ample legroom. The engine was the biggest surprise though, it had much more pep than I was expecting from a car with only 103 hp.
I will probably be going to purchase one next week. I've been given a price of $13,000 for a fully loaded 4door LT w/Automatic, Sunroof and ABS.
Not my first choice in new car, but I recently purchased my 1st home and must consider that over my desire to have an expensive car. And $600 (after dividends) a year for insurance in the state with the highest insurance rates (NJ) is great.
The gas mileage is also plus. I only drive 3 miles one way to work, I won't be filling up the tank more than once a month with the Aveo. With gas prices as high as they are that's another advantage this car has.
The lack of an armrest is actually only a minor quibble. I thought it would be more uncomfortable, but found that with the position I drive in it didn't bother me much.
Lots of upscale features for a less than upscale price.
I'm just waiting for my friends to laugh at me and say 'you traded a Camaro for an Aveo?!?!!?' LOL But, alas, priorities change when you buy a house. |
