Moon Roof! Works wonderfully! I really enjoy this feature, and I have only used my air-conditioning probably three times in the two years I've had this SUV! |

As above, by far the only thing but HUGE thing - no choice/option for setting the power locks to autolock for security reasons, etc.! ! ! ! |

I love the look of the 2005. I have a 'Sonic Blue' XLT with leather, all-power windows/doors, 6-disc CD player(A must have!) and V6, etc. I just happened to get a moon roof with this Escape and I love it! I don't think I'll ever own another vehicle without one. The ride is very smooth and stable. Great turn radius. Aluminum rims with the bigger tires makes the look sleeker and sportier. Also, the spare tire is not a 'fake' temporary tire but an actual tire with an aluminum rim, the same as what's on the SUV. I was hoping on better gas mileage around town for this small SUV, but got about 17-18 MPH. A big ZERO, though and a most upseting omission on Ford Motor Co. part is pertaining to the power doors not having even the option for AUTOLOCK. I have always had autolocking vehicles before and as a single woman, have not had to think about locking my car once inside because I've always had vehicles that did that automatically. For whatever senseless reason, it was not put an option. I couldn't believe it. A 2005 vehicle NOT having a autolocking feature?!?! Even my daughter's Focus has it. Any car I know that has power locks now days, has autolocking! But not this Ford Escape. As with my daughter's 2003 Focus, I just assumed that in the manual there was a way to turn the autolocking feature on and off. But NOTHING. I called the dealer, they said it just wasn't on these Escapes. I even went as far as calling the Ford Motor Company, trying to understand their rationale(if any) behind NOT putting an autolocking feature on this vehicle even as an option to have on or off. They said that a lot of people have these disengaged, so they left it off. That's stupid. Why couldn't they have give ME the choice. After driving my otherwise beloved Escape for 2½ years now, I have YET to get in the habit of locking my doors after inside, 100% of the time, thus endangering my health. I'm about 75-80% now, remembering, but it would only take that one time to forget to become a victim. Shame on you Ford for not thinking of SECURITY by putting this feature on to either engage or disengage at MY CHOICE. That's the only think about this vehicle that totally, absolutely does NOT make sense to me! Otherwise, I am in love with my Escape! |
