Advice to buyer: |
Drive it on lots of different pavement, really look it over for defects, and if you have issues that the dealer won't fix, call Scion directly. The warranty is much better than the dealership will let on. |
Detailed review: |
I've got a 5 speed and lack of power doesn't seem to be a major issue. It handles well but does have a good hum to it on the highway (it could really use a 6th gear, as it runs at 3000 rpm at 60 mph), but that's why I don't have to downshift to pass. Due to the stiff suspension and short wheel base, the ride can be jarring, but thats the quality of the road reflected by the car, so it really vary. Handling is good, but the gas milage isn't all it's cracked up to be.
The best way to sum it up is this: It's almost like driving an ultra-super-duper-refined air cooled VW bug....with heat and A/C. If you want a smoother, quieter ride with more power and all the options that are on this car, look in the $16000+ range. |
