Gas milage. Before installing a K&N Filter |
Advice to buyer: |
Feel for yourself. Test drive the Trailblazer and the Explorer. You'll appreciate the confort and performance of the Trailblazer |
Detailed review: |
Although I've only had my traiblazer 2 weeks, I haven't been able to break it yet. I've read many of the review and in my best opinion you really can't go wrong with this SUV, aside from the gas milage. I purchased the vehicle with 19,200 miles so I still have 15,000 or so miles on the manufacturers' warranty. When I compared this to the 2005 Explorer and there was really no comparison. For the same price, I have a vehicle with better performance, safety and confort. The ride is quieter, smoother and has better feel on the road. The added bonus is that the in-line 6 has better horsey power and torque than the standard V-6 of the Explorer! Acceleration is good and strong enough to pass (up hills!) without straining and over-reving. For the same performance on the Explorer, I would have had to pay another 2 grand plus for the v-8 on and would still have to worry about the transmittion problems they are having. One last note... To overcome the gas milage (ave. 14 mpg city), I suggest installing a K&N filter. After I installed the filter, I average 15 in the city and 21-22 on the highway....! It's worth the 60 bucks...! |
