I am writing this letter to inform you of the terrible customer service your company is providing. I bought a new 2002 Dodge Ram 4x4 last January. It currently is less than two years old and has less than 23,000 miles. The truck has had three safety recalls and a steering gear is having to be replaced. Yet none of those problems are what I am upset about. What is upsetting is that I am being forced to pay for a rental car while all this is repaired. I know in your basic warranty that it says rental service is not covered. However I think certain exceptions should be made. For one, the recall issues should be completely your company's responsibility and you should do everything possible to make it as pleasant as possible to have them repaired. That does not mean offerring a ride to my house while it is being fixed. I work and go to school and a vehicle is important for me to get to both. The second issue is that I am now being forced to pay for a rental car while the replacement steering gear is shipped. I was told it would take 4-5 days to get here. The least you could do is have the part overnighted. I will admit that the dealership said I could take my truck but I would have to sign a waiver that if the problem became worse Dodge would not pay for any of the repair. They say that word of mouth is the best form of advertising and I am letting you know that this letter is being posted to every consumer review board I can find on the internet and I am also forwarding it to every contact I have in my address book and asking them to do the same. Hopefully this will at least get you to look at your warranty policy and rethink some of the terms. Sincerely, Billy Spencer |
