With only 700 miles on the vehicle it stalled while my wife was driving on a curvy road going about 30 mph. She almost wrecked into oncoming traffic when the power assist brakes and steering was lost. She was really shaken up. This is a SIGNIFICANT safety issue and there appears to be a lot of history on the Escapes with the stalling problem - reference TSB 15589. It is in the dealer now but if they can't fix it, they better be willing to keep it. I cannot risk my families life. According to the forums, Ford says it's not a problem. I think if it stalls and causes injury or death, even a bad lawyer could win against Ford. |
