by Brian Chee

Hybrid FAQs
Is there any difference in the way hybrid vehicles drive? Braking is a little different, as hybrid systems regenerate energy through the braking systems.

Is it true that hybrid vehicles 'turn off' when the vehicle is at a red light? Yes and no. The gas engine stops running, which is a primary reason why hybrid systems save fuel and limit emissions. When you step on the accelerator, however, the electric generator instantly starts the engine.
