I have a question for everyone. What's your favorite car show on television? Nascar events, Pimp My Ride, PINKS...what? My fav right now is Unique Whips on SpeedTV. It's a show where celebs get their cars seriously macked out. You can check it out at http://www.speedtv.com/uniquewhips. Is there another show I should be watching?

Just get a WRX. With turbo back, uppipe, and reflash with FMIC you should be able to hit high 12's and have the traction of allwheeldrive. unlike any other car mentioned.

What's the key difference between the IS250 and IS350 and what are you estimating price to be for both? Thanks.

Top car at the Show was the Lexus IS. Hands down. Yes, the Shelby was nice, and that Charger cop car was cool, but for impact and style, the IS takes my blue ribbon. Jeers to Isuzu for trotting out truck and calling it new -- when the truck looks kinda like a Chevy I used to know...Q: If you had to choose between a Chevy truck, with a 3-year warranty, or the same thing as an Isuzu --with 7 years of coverage, which do you buy? Strangest thing at the Show was GM -- they had The Donald, the morning speech and a raft of cars -- but Captain Enthusiasm just never really showed up.

All in all, though, a great show with loads to argue about.

It’s almost as if Jim Farley, vp of Scion, isn’t sure which is the dream and which is reality: does he really run the most exciting new car brand in America, or is he flipping burgers at the corner White Castle. Well, Farley is indeed the Man when it comes to Scion, and Scion is the brand everyone wants to talk about. Today at the 2005 New York Auto Show, Scion and Farley introduced the world to a new concept –the t2B, and while it’s a “pure concept”, there’s no telling what those kids are going to do over at Calty, where the concept was developed. They might just build the thing. If they do, one of the existing Scions is sure to go – probably the xA. The most intriguing thing about the Scion t2B? Suicide driver side doors, and power sliding doors on the passenger side. Now that’s an idea that works no matter how old and not-hip you are. Brian Chee, from New York

This may well be the year of the Hyundai. Not content to rest on the laurels of a top Consumer Reports quality pick, or the successful debut of the Sonata during January’s 2005 North American International Auto Show, Hyundai launched two new models here in New York – and initial reaction is, in a word – WOW. The new 2006 Hyundai Azera luxury sedan is so much better than the outgoing XG that it’s not fair to connect the two, and the entry level 2006 Hyundai Accent looks like a well-designed, durable car – from the Show floor. To top that, the Accent comes standard with side curtain air bags. And to top THAT, Hyundai announced plans to offer XM in every single car – as standard. More on that later. For now, though, the 2005 New York Auto Show is like two ships in the night – GM and Hyundai – guess which one is headed for smooth sailing…Brian Chee, from New York

General Motors is in a world of hurt. Instead of bringing to market products that are just good enough, they need to vault themselves to the head-of-the-class with standout design, impeccable engineering, a strong value equation, better warranty coverage, and reduced reliance on fleet sales (read: Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum). Truth is, the Big 3 (but mainly Ford and GM) are stuck in a downward spiral that won't reverse itself without product and a complete overhaul of their pension plans, healthcare costs, and union practices -- none of which is likely to change. I smell a government bailout.

Lexus has debuted their most emotive vehicle yet, the 2006 IS 350 and IS 250. You know about the design of the new GS -- the IS is more. Photos fail to accurately catch this car -- perhaps "young tuner grows up" is an apt description for this latest version of the L-Finesse design. With the IS and the new GS 450h hybrid, Lexus is poised to make some very real inroads into the luxury sedan market. Only one question about the IS is -- ouch -- why a smaller engine for the IS 250? According to Mark Templin, vp of marketing for Lexus, it may be smaller but drivers will find it to be a better performer. For now we will have to take his word on it -- until we can get behind the wheel. The GS 450h hybrid, as expected, will be a screamer that out performs the GS 430 and its V8 engine. Templin said that the performance from the GS 450h is like that of a 4.5-liter V8. The Lexus GS 450h is a 3.5-liter V6 engine attached to three electric motors. It's the first ever rear-wheel drive hybrid. Brian Chee, Abt editor

The 2005 New York Auto Show launched today with a stirring speech from Gary Cowger, GM Pres. of North America. Cowger promised a new marketing focus on "value" and said that sticker prices would be adjusted downward to emphasis the value of the vehicle. Make your own joke here...fact is, GM must move away from incentives and that means dropping sticker prices. But they must get people into showrooms, and no amount of SS-addled SUVs will get back lost sedan market share. Cowger seems to think that performance and convertibles will do that, but how about a CAR that truly competes with the Accord? Cowger also claimed that GM will offer stability control on all models by 2010 -- wonder why not now -- and OnStar will also be standard equipment on all GM cars. During his speech, Cowger showed a commercial from 1964 of a Buick LeSabre, and boy that is still a pretty car. Beats looking at a bunch of boxy SUVs! Check back later tonight for more on GM and the latest from the Auto Show...

you should go with a muscle car, soup it up and you can run in the 11s 12s even 9s. get something like a Dodge Daytona or z/28, they haul ass. but if you instist on a neon or whatever it was, go older and stick turbos on it after having the motor replaced with a v6 (bored 0.0020 over). i prefer the '72 Pontiac Trans Am.

I sorry but my 03 Neon SXT w/ Ebay CAI & a Magnaflow muffler, I dusted everything from Z24 Cavaliers, Honda Civics (All Models), V6 Mustangs, all 5spd from a dead stop on back roads. You can get a lot more horse out of Neon than a Civic w/ bolt on mods. Hell Dodge sells All Mopar Performance Parts for all Neons & cover under fatory warranty. Honda don't offer half that Mopar Performance has to offer. No matter what I will always love my Neon over any other 4cyl, except for the fastest car under $21,000 the SRT-4

By: andy - Post Date: Nov-14-2004
neon, civic??? both are slow. a dohc focus will spank both.. trust me ive spanked both. cheap to buy cheap to pimp, faster than both..

By: zach - Danville, IL Post Date: Nov-10-2004
the neon looks like crap, and modded... it looks like a freaking riced out Bug... i hate those cars cuz they're so ugly and un-reliable... my friend had one, souped it up, it was still slow, unreliable, and ugly... civics are better looking and don't say they're slow... kuz who keeps the stock engine anyways??? drop a B18c3 in it and blow that stupid neon off the street. but if u ask me... Prelude Vtec 4th gen. (92-96) ROCK :D knowing from personal experience... digital dashes are so awesome, check it out, it's unique..... laterz..

By: ben - Post Date: May-24-2004
no,no,no it would be better to get a used neon insted of a dang civic lets say it did cust more to buy a neon even thoug it dosen't, it would cost a little more to up grade a neon than a darn civic the noeon would look a lot nicer

By: Kristen - Post Date: Apr-21-2004
You would be much happier and better off buying a Civic and upgrading to what you want for options than buying a new car. A neon? Yuck. How could you even have a Civic in the same sentence line as a neon? For a drop, 19's and to run 12's you'd be better off with a hatchback Civic.

to brandon and everybody

tuscany is a english spelling of toscana, a famous italian province. the only make that have produced a tuscany-model is ford, a european model.

Post Date: Dec-20-2003
Obviously you guys need to do your homwork, if it had the Tsunai badge it was a Hyundai Tiburon. And the Neon SRT-4s are awesome cars if you want strictly performancec. Check out edmunds.com awesome car site with reviews/pics. Screw a civic everyone has one, but the srt4s are butt ugly fast.

I dont know anyone with a Neon and why go with the Civic - everyone drives one? I was in Vegas during the summer and saw a really cool car but dont know what kind it is. It had a badge that said tuscani or something like that. I wish I would have made it to SEMA this year.....I would have loved to have found out what that car was. Maybe some new Acura?

By: 2Fast4U - Columbus, OH Post Date: Nov-14-2003
Wow - great to see a Tuner forum here! Question for everyone. I totaled my car and now have to find a new one. Should I get one of the new Neon's (I hear they are fast) or go for a used Civic that I can get aftermarket for much easier? What about Mitsu or other brands?

My concerns are 1/4 mile times (I want 12s), and being able to drop the car and put on some 19-inch wheels.
