What's New for the 2004 Chevrolet Tracker? The Chevrolet Tracker lineup is pared down substantially for 2004. Gone are the two-door model and the 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine. Also off the equipment list is the five-speed manual transmission. All 2004 Chevrolet Trackers are four-door models powered by a V6 engine mated to an automatic transmission and ride on standard alloy wheels.
Advantages of the 2004 Chevrolet Tracker:
- Real off-road capability in a world of crossover wannabe SUVs
- Standard V6 engine
- Big dealer discounts
Objections to the 2004 Chevrolet Tracker: - Not terribly adept on pavement
- Cramped rear seating
- Loud and unrefined cabin
Editor's Advice: Today, few small SUVs are the real deal with body-on-frame construction and authentic off-roading capability. The 2004 Chevrolet Tracker is one of the last of a dying breed, gone next year when the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox replaces it. If you need billy goat capability in a small package, check out the Tracker. Otherwise, shop elsewhere or wait for the Chevrolet Equinox to arrive.
