Bought this 2002 Avalanche in August 2002 and have 43300 miles on it now. I have used it for about everything it could be used for. I have pulled a trailer hauling a car with a combined weight of 19400 pounds and could keep up with traffic on a 6% grade and got 11 mpg on the trip of over 800 miles. Put 15 sheets of 3/4' plywood in and 25 2x4's and had no problems at all closing the tailgate and driving over 200 miles to my cabin. Had a friend build a stainless steel ladder rack for it and can haul 20 foot 2x6's. After all that is done I can fold the seats back up and haul 6 full size people very comfortably. Went for 3000 mile trip into Canada for 5 weeks pulling a 26 ft travel trailer and enjoyed every mile of it. If it was destroyed today, I would have another tomorrow. |
