2014 Chrysler Town and Country Summary

Changes for the 2014 Chrysler Town and Country:

A new 30th Anniversary Edition version of the 2014 Town and Country commemorates three decades of the automaker’s minivan sales and innovation leadership.

Model Lineup:

The 2014 Chrysler Town and Country is offered in Touring, S, Touring-L, 30th Anniversary Edition, and Limited trim levels. Building upon the well-equipped Touring model, the Town and Country S injects a little bit of attitude with a performance-tuned suspension, a special wheel design and finish, black trim inside and out, unique black leather seats with cloth inserts, and a premium leather-wrapped steering wheel. This model also comes standard with a Super Console and a rear-seat entertainment system with a Blu-Ray DVD player.

The Touring-L version expands upon Touring equipment with nicer leather upholstery, Satin Silver and Dark Maple interior trim, second-row and third-row sunshades, and upgraded exterior trim. The Touring-L also gets a power front passenger’s seat, an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror, folding side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, rear parking assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high-beam headlights, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Path Detection.

New for 2014, the 30th Anniversary Edition is based on the Touring-L model, adding leather and Alcantara upholstery, Piano Black interior trim, heated front seats, heated second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, a power-folding third-row seat, power adjustable pedals, power folding side mirrors, keyless passive entry with push-button starting, fancier interior trim, and nicer polished-face wheels.

The top-of-the-line model is the Town and Country Limited. It comes standard with premium Nappa leather seats, memory for the driver’s settings, a wood-and-leather steering wheel, a premium audio system, a navigation system, one free year of Sirius TravelLink service, HID headlights, and polished aluminum wheels.

Engines and Transmissions:

All Town and Country models are equipped with a 283-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission delivers the power to the front wheels, and offers AutoStick manual control of gear changes.

Fuel Economy Ratings:

According to the EPA, the 2014 Town and Country is rated to return 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 20 mpg in combined driving.

Safety Ratings:

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives the Chrysler Town and Country a 4-star overall crash-test rating, with the minivan earning either 4 stars or 5 stars in every crash-test assessment. As this summary is written, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not officially rated the 2014 Town and Country. Last year, this model received the highest rating of “Good” for all assessments except for the difficult new small overlap frontal impact test, for which it had not yet been rated.

Technology Highlights:

The 2014 Town and Country is equipped with a standard Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with a hard drive music server. A dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system is available, equipped to play Blu-Ray DVDs and providing wireless headphones, HDMI input jacks, a 115-volt two-prong power outlet, USB charging ports, and more. Uconnect Web is optional, turning the minivan into a rolling Wi-Fi hotspot.
